DO YOU have aspirations of playing for Victoria Country in 2019?
Our High Performance pathway trials will commence again this October, as Basketball Victoria will host the State Development Program (SDP) Country Selection Trials on 2, 3 and 5 October at Ballarat.
Basketball Victoria’s SDP Country Selection Camps in Ballarat have been made possible through the local partnership between Ballarat Basketball and Harvey Norman, which has delivered the Harvey Norman Healthy Living Regional Program throughout the Ballarat community.
The State Development Program (SDP), formerly branded as the National Intensive Training Program (NITP), is is the first step on the way to representing Victoria Country, Victoria or taking your game all the way to Australian junior representative teams.

Trainings are scheduled for athletes who have to contend with travel, family or other commitments. The SDP works with identified Country and Metro athletes in the under-16 and under-18 women’s and men’s age groups.

SDP athletes work under the Basketball Victoria HP curriculum as athletes will work with identified coaches under the direction of the High Performance Coach – Country in regional satellite hubs and at regular combined training camps.
Selected athletes may also be invited to attend The Victorian National Performance Program (VNPP), which is designed to assist Basketball Australia in identifying athletes who are members of national junior teams or are capable of making those teams. The VNPP will be held from September 2018 to August 2019 and will be operated by elite coaches who are national-calibre coaches.
