CBL Round 11 Preview

THE Country Basketball League is back in 2018 with a host of matches in the Gippsland and North East Conferences.

The Warragul men put their undefeated streak on the line against Korumburra with the Warriors the overwhelming favourites heading into the match. In the womens fixture the 3rd placed Korumburra Wildcats will bring their 5 match win streak into Warragul.

Sale will head to Moe on Saturday night in what promises to be a tough test for both the women and the men with the Meteors entering the match in 3rd place while the Sonics sit in 6th. The Moe women hold 2nd place on the ladder however will be looking to return to the winners list after a loss in their last match. Sale enters the match with a 5 match losing streak.

The Sale men will be back on court on Sunday as they head to Churchill to take on the 6th placed Blue Devils.

In the North East, the top of the womens table clash between Wangaratta and Wodonga is set to be the match of the round. Wodonga took the points in their last matchup but the home court advantage could come in to play for the Lady Warriors. In the mens match, the Warriors (6th) will need an almighty display to overcome the Wodonga Wolves (3rd).

The mens ladder leading Shepparton Gators host Myrtleford with the Gators looking to extend their 9 game winning streak against the 5th placed Saints. In the womens fixture it’s the 3rd placed Lady Gators taking on the 4th placed Saints in what should be a very tight contest.

On Sunday, Wangaratta are back on court as they head to Wallan. In the women’s match the 5th place Panthers, winners of 3 in their last 5 will look to continue their positive play against a very competitive Lady Warriors team. The Panthers will enter the mens match favourites despite both teams entering the match with only 1 win in their last 5 matches.
