Maffra defeated the Blue Devils by 31 points in round 4. Sale host Maffra in a battle between 4th and 5th and features an intriguing duel between two scoring maestros in Sale’s Billy Hughes (32 ppg) and Maffra’s Sam Whelan (24.5 ppg).

The only Gippsland Womens game in round 5 is the local matchup between Sale & Maffra. Maffra enter the round unbeaten after 2 games and sit in 2nd place on the ladder while Sale are sitting in the middle of the ladder with a 2 wins and 2 loss record.

Seymour will host Shepparton in the highlight matchup in the North East Men as not only is this a grand final rematch but both teams have continued their great play and enter with 7 wins and no loss record between them. On Sunday, the 3 winless mens teams take the floor as Echuca (0 wins & 2 loss) take on the 3rd place Wallan Panthers (2 wins & 1 loss), Myrtleford (0 wins & 3 loss) take on the Shepparton Gators and Wodonga (1 win & 2 loss) host Wangaratta (0 wins & 2 loss).

The feature matchup in the North East womens competition is Wodonga vs Wangaratta, with both teams entering unbeaten at the top of the ladder. At the other end of the spectrum is the matchup between the conferences 2 winless teams with Wallan (0 wins & 3 loss) hosting Echuca (0 wins & 2 loss). Myrtleford (1 win & 2 loss) host Shepparton (2 wins & 1 loss) as the Saints will look to stop their 2 game losing streak in front of a home crowd this Sunday.

In the North West, Mildura men host Kyneton for their first home game of the season. These teams played in Round 2 with the Heat beating the Tigers by 17 points. Bendigo will take on Swan Hill in both men and womens matches, with the Swan Hill men still searching for their first win of the season. We get the next installment of the Maryborough vs Castlemaine local rivalry. Both mens teams have accumulated 2 wins this season while the Castlemaine women are winless in 4 while Maryborough recorded their single victory in Round 3.

There are 5 matches in the South West with the Ararat men hosting the unbeaten Mt Gambier Lakers on Saturday and then welcome Portland men and women on Sunday. To complete the round, Terang host Colac men and women with the Terang men and Colac women searching for maiden victories.
