Macedon Ranges receive $6m Labor election pledge

FAMILIES in New Gisborne will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver a further $6 million towards the indoor courts component of the Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct.

Labor committed $5.6 million towards the Precinct’s outdoor facilities, including new sports fields, new tennis and netball courts, and outside play spaces for local families.

Funding from a re-elected Labor Government will also help deliver the indoor aspects of the Sports Precinct.

“Only a re-elected Labor Government will help deliver the whole Macedon Ranges Regional Sports Precinct – inside and out.”

“This investment will mean Macedon Ranges’ sporting stars finally have the facilities they deserve,” Minister for Sport John Eren said.

With current indoor sporting facilities already chock full, the Macedon Ranges is in dire need of more local courts.

It’s why funding from a re-elected Labor Government will go towards four indoor courts including a show court and spectator seating, new change rooms, multipurpose rooms and other amenities to be integrated with the existing Macedon Ranges Netball Complex.

With these upgrades from a re-elected Labor Government, local clubs – and this local community – will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

The Andrews Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sporting opportunities in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports – including over $4 million to upgrade and improve Macedon Range’s local facilities.

“The Precinct has been a long time coming for locals, and I’m proud to help deliver it.”

“This is more than just an investment in new courts – this is a real investment in local clubs and our local community,” Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas said.
